Classic Works and Handbooks
THE ANDERSON CONSTITUTION
James Anderson
The author of one of the most significant books on Freemasonry is James Anderson. The book was first published in England in 1723. The Brethren of the PL Brotherhood translated and published the book in 2006. In early 2023, the Brethren of the PL Brotherhood released a second edition, which comes with a CD featuring music from Anderson’s Constitution. The book can be ordered at masonskimail@gmail.com or via the PL Brotherhood website.
A GLOSSARY OF FREEMASONRY, ESOTERICISM, HERMETICISM, RELIGION, MYTHS, AND SYMBOLS
Luigi Troisi
Published by “Filip Višnjić.” Although it was surpassed in scope and content by the French “Dictionary of Freemasons,” this book is still worth having, as it also contains terms related to Freemasonry that do not strictly fall under it.
BORN IN BLOOD (THE LOST SECRETS OF FREEMASONRY)
John Robinson
Publisher “Narodna knjiga.” Interestingly, Robinson wrote this book with enthusiasm, even though he was not a Freemason at the time. The author attempts to find the “lost link” between the Templars and Freemasons.
THE HIRAM KEY (PHARAOHS, FREEMASONS, AND THE DISCOVERY OF THE SECRET SCROLLS OF JESUS)
Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas
Publisher “Kairos” from Sremski Karlovci. Two young Freemasons set out in search of the roots of Freemasonry. Their discovery is shocking not only for Freemasons, but also for the profane world.
HOLY BLOOD, HOLY GRAIL
Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, Henry Lincoln
Publisher of “Bata” books. A worldwide bestseller that shook the clergy, raised dust in the courts, and caused a frenzy among readers. The quest for the Holy Grail, from Jesus to the Knights Templar.
THE MESSIANIC LEGACY
Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, Henry Lincoln
Publisher of “Bata” books. A continuation of the investigation into the connection between the Templars and the Order. Who was actually behind the Knight Monks?
TEMPLE AND LODGE
Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh
Publisher of “Bata” books. The origin of the first Lodges. The beginning and development of Freemasonry in the New World.
THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS DECEPTION
Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh
Publisher of “Bata” books. Controversies surrounding the writings found at Nag Hammadi and Qumran persist to this day. Why are they being hidden? Who is afraid of their publication?
DICTIONARY OF FREEMASONS
Daniel Ligou
Published by “Paidea.” Over 1,500 pages covering all the lodges of the world, famous Freemasons, rituals, and symbolism.
THE INVISIBLE HAND
Ralph Epperson
Publisher “Blue Circle.” The author guides the reader in an interesting way through conspiracy theories, leading toward the theory of interest. Although an American fundamentalist, Epperson is an author certainly worth reading, but his views should always be taken with a “grain of salt.”
THE MEANING OF MASONRY
Walter Leslie Wilmshurst
Private edition. A beautiful book that introduces the Brother to the origin and symbolism of the Royal Art.
THE MASONIC IDEA
Henri Tort-Nouguès
Publisher “Euro-Giunti.” As a former Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of France and a doctor of philosophy, Henri Tort-Nouguès takes you on a truly exciting journey through the history and philosophy of the oldest Brotherhood in the world.
THE MASONIC ORDER
Henri Tort-Nouguès
Publisher “Euro-Giunti.” Another fantastic book by Henri Tort-Nouguès, following on from “The Masonic Idea.” Here the author analyzes the concept of order itself even more deeply, as well as the need for Freemasonry in the modern world of consumer society. Fantastic philosophical essays.
THE BOOK OF THE APPRENTICE
Oswald Wirth
Private edition. An initiatory manual with instructions for Brethren of the 1st degree.
THE BOOK OF THE FELLOWCRAFT
Oswald Wirth
Private edition. An initiatory manual with instructions for Brethren of the 2nd degree.
“A book is a teacher that instructs you without rod or switch, without anger or tears, without robes or money. If you draw near to it, it does not sleep; if you question it, it does not conceal its secrets.”
