THE GNLS HOSTS THE CENTRAL EUROPEAN OBEDIENCES SUMMIT

At the initiative of the Grand National Lodge of Serbia, a summit of fraternal obediences was held during April 6024 at the Smederevo Orient: the Grand Regular Lodge of Slovenia, the Grand Regular Lodge of Croatia, the Grand Regular Lodge of North Macedonia, and the host, the Grand National Lodge of Serbia. The purpose of the summit is to strengthen the fraternal chain of the region in accordance with the spiritual principles of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry (S.R.F.M.). The Summit was also attended by Brothers from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, and France. The Grand Lodge of France lent significance to the summit, and Brother Alain Gravian, Grand Chancellor of the GLDF, attended the summit at the head of a delegation. All the aforementioned obediences are united in an international confederation of united grand lodges (French: Confédération internationale des Grandes Loges Unies; English: International Confederation of the United Grand Lodges), abbreviated CIGLU or ICUGL. The United Grand Lodges from around the world that make up CIGLU practice S.O.D.P. , and the Grand Lodge of France presides over the confederation, while the UGLE currently holds the position of Vice President of the Confederation for Europe.
