On October 4, 6024 G.I.S., the Grand Master, with his college of officers, the Worthy Officers, and the Brothers from the respected Lodges working under the protection of the Grand National Lodge of Serbia, paid tribute to Brother George Wainwright. On that occasion, the Grand Master of the Grand National Lodge of Serbia delivered a fitting address, which we are presenting in its entirety.
DEAR BRETHREN
admirers of a great man, today we gather to pay tribute to Brother George Weinschenk, a man who with his work, his life, and his deeds left an indelible mark on the history of our country and Freemasonry. He was a visionary, philanthropist, and humanist, a man who, above all, believed in the strength of community, brotherhood, and the universal values of Freemasonry – love, justice, and truth. George Weinschenk, a great industrialist, banker, and patron of the arts, was not just a man of economic progress. His commitment to art, science, education, and humanitarian work was a reflection of a deep belief in a better future for all of us. As a Freemason, Vajfert dedicated his life to building a society based on the principles of equality and brotherhood. His deeds speak louder than words—hospitals, schools, foundations, as well as numerous cultural and scientific endeavors that marked his time. And today, as we stand here, let us remember all the values for which Wajfert stood. In his life and work, Freemasonry has a role model for how to live, how to serve the community, and how to leave the world a better place than we found it. His greatness lay not only in the material wealth he acquired, but in the spiritual legacy he selflessly shared with everyone. Therefore, may he have eternal glory and thanks for all that he has done. George Woyferth lives on among us through his works, and may his name be eternally engraved in the memory of our people and of Freemasonry.
